The Compare and the Contrast

The Lips of Doom!

Manolo says, here is the tragic picture of the Donatella Versace.

The Donatella, she has everything. She designs the beautiful clothes, she is wealthy, she has maintained her figure in the excellent condition, and the dress she is wearing it is stunning, but the mania for the plastic surgery it has begun to turn her face into the grotesquerie.

Manolo says, yes, sometimes the plastic surgery it perhaps necessary, but the results to be strived for should be subtle and natural, a tiny nip here, a little tuck there.

For the comparison, look at our muse, the Miuccia.

Adorable!Adorable!

Yes, the Miuccia, her face it is not traditionally beautiful, and undoubtedly she has had the tiny nip and the little tuck, but because she has not meddled with the basic structure of her very Italian, very handsome face, she is more compelling than the Donatella, who is fighting the process of the aging with the tooth and the nail and the collagen.

Manolo says, because the beauty it is found in the state of naturalness, the trick to aging with the grace is to work with the nature, not to try to overthrow it. Nothing it is more ridiculous and tragic than the woman of the advanced years who is attempting to look like the teenager. (viz. Cher, Cher, and Cher)

    Miuccia is amazing.

I think I’m naming my daughter after her.

There is so much truth in what you said here … and it is indeed very sad to see these women trying so hard to be beautiful but ended up being ridiculous.

I believe it is not so much about having plastic surgery, but what the expectation of the recipient is, and what the surgeon does to critique the requests of the patient.

Clearly, the person who did surgery on Cher was brilliant, absolutely brilliant.I only suggest that Cher has had the “eyelid” reduction done little too much, I would have left an extra millimetre of eylid skin to prevent the big “gap” that causes the eyelid skin to follow the eyball.

In the case of Donatella, it was ALL wrong.Firstly, she has very small eyes and petite square forehead. The action of creating such a heavy lower face (I.e THE LIPS!!) was clearly a serious error.Very few European women can get away with having large lips, perhaps only Italian, French, Spanish, Basque, Maltese and Greek women. Basically, some Italian women can be sublimely beautiful with gracious aquiline faces. There is another type of Italian beauty however, a stronger, more handsome beauty that ages very well.It is impossible to take the heavier, more handsome face and make it aquiline.

It is a basic misunderstanding of the cultural perception of beauty. The best surgeons understand this as they are artists.Donatella’s surgeon should be sacked.
