Get over it, please - if you aren't offended by Manolo's writing, with the Spanish fashion designer accent, then you really need to think about why you're offended by that one headline. And if you start saying things like The Europeans Are Terrible Oppressors - well, have you read any Chinese history? Or American history? Because lots of Chinese were oppressed in the US, but so were lots of people from a variety of countries in Europe who arrived here with little money and education. (Of course, I adore the Manolo, because well-crafted dialect humor used to support excellent writing, does not bother an Italian-American who grew up in western Canada and who has heard more unskilled dialect humor from more diverse sources and in more languages than you can probably imagine. I do, however, have a very sore spot when it comes to the idea that some immigrants are more equal than others.)
