The Birkenstock Nairobi

By Manolo the Shoeblogger

Birkenstock - Nairobi (Black/White) - Women's

Manolo says, somewhere out there, in the land of the ill-shod, is the deluded person who has paid $385 of the American dollars to put this on her feets.

The Manolo he can only weep at such error, especially when he considers that the same moneys it will buy this with the change left over.

Yuck- just because the other one is Prada doesn’t mean it’s pretty either…

  2. dowdydiva Says:

I like the clogs! I would wear them with a solid black outfit and they would be silly yet comfortable. But they are much, much, much too expensive. I actually like the Prada less…

  3. willow Says:

Actually, for crunchy ‘birkies’ this design is a bit edgy. Imagine the moment of uncertainty when an observer considers whether these are PETA-friendly or not! “Hmm…do I throw red paint on this person or is it just faux fur? What to do, what to do?!?” How fun! But, having said that, they are still fugly, being Birkenstocks and all. And those Pradas are just as bad, sorry Miucca…

prada ones are sooooooo much worse

  5. Esther Says:

Wow, those are both of the hideous. Must go rinse out retinas now….

  6. Dave Schuler Says:

These monstrosities appear to be discontinued. I’m not a bit surprised.

  7. Michele Delo Says:

The Michele, she is aghast that the Manolo he does not appreciate the Birkies of the Zebra — for the delicious ironies that would have been noted by the Lombard or so quickly by the Mae West! Yes, only the politically corrected person will be seen wearing the Birkie, yet the zebra skin real or fake it is completely not the pc. The Birkie – it lives to warn off innocent elegant persons! The stripes of the Zebra added to the lumpen wads that are the Birkie, they are screaming RUN AWAY NOW!

  8. Kate C. Says:

    I need a drinkie now.

  9. katie Says:

Am I the only one who noticed that those are from the “HEIDI KLUM COLLECTION”? what the hell is that all about? no accounting for taste, even if you are a supermodel and have a fashion design reality show I guess.

  10. Kathleen Says:

Heidi Klum also thinks Seal is hot AND has her oen candy line? HMM

  11. muffy van db Says:

Seal IS hot. Maybe you have a problem with the idea of white on black?

  12. stacyo Says:

    My dear Manolo,
The shoes, they are both ugly. Don’t be swayed by the lablels. Even the Prada gets it wrong sometimes…
