I love Jay!!! I am from the town right next to him, Dallas. I know what its like to grow up in a small town. I’m a teenager and the coolest hang out for us is Turkey Hill. Many people who live here have talent, but they grow up get married here and
have kids, then there life is over. He is an inspiration because he came from where i do and he unlike everyone else got up and made something of himself. I love him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tim Gunn truly is a class act. He has the talent of giving negative critique without making the subject feel criticized, or demeaned.
As far as Banana Republic goes, I do have ahard time imagining that the request for the return of clothing was random. Wardrobes are rarely to keep, and any such perks (like SJP’s in Sex & the City) are usually outlined in the contract, so there was most likely fine print to the effect that all garments were to be returned. In any event, Mr. Gunn seems to remain as classy as ever, and loyal as well, since he obviously harbors no ill will towards the chain, and continues to shop there as before.

I was surprised about what The Manolo said about the cheapness and chintziness of the Banana Republic clothing so read the full article about the Tim Gunn. To quote the article: “The fit of everything right off the rack here - every suit, every dress pant - is fantastic for me,” he told us. “Plus, it has that classic tailoring with a little bit of modernness to it, a little bit of an edge. I’ve never turned back…Gunn’s enthusiasm for all things Banana remains undiminished, as witnessed by his choosing it as the site of our Shopping With excursion, and by the fact that even today he is outfitted, head to toe, in BR finery.” The Tim loves the Banana Republic!! As do I, finding the clothing to be of the high quality and the perfect fit for me, a man of the narrow size.

Yes, indeedy! I was sad that Mr. Gunn wasn’t a bigger presence in the PR episodes. So I was thrilled to find his articles on the Bravo PR website - Tim’s Take - insightful summaries of each episode. I think PR & Mr. Gunn are single handedly responsible for my new love of high fashion! As, of course, are you, Manolo. =]

The Tim Gunn, he is truly superfantastic. The office in which I work is but 2 city blocks from the Parsons and once I saw the Tim Gunn on the street and told him he was superfantastic. He was most gracious to this fan girl.

The chintzy-cheapness is not only found in the policies of the Banana Republic but in the clothes as well. For $80 I would not expect to get the highest quality super fantastic pants, but I expect to get the pants with the well-sewn seams that do not unravel after a month’s wear.

It is a sad thing for your company when the lower priced lines (Gap & Old Navy) have better quality seams and equal quality constrution as the higher priced line.
