The Chaco for the Sporty Girl
Manolo says, for the most of the part, the Manolo he is either indifferent or at the worst mildly opposed to the “sport” sandal. It is the shoe that the Manolo believes, may occasionally, sometimes, maybe have its place, which is to say, maybe while washing the car, but not while in the sit-down restaurant, maybe while on the trip of camping, but not at the wedding. (Some peoples they have no sense of the occasion.)
So it is now odd that the Manolo finds himself liking very much these sandals from the Chaco, the makers of the large numbers of the sport sandals.
Manolo says, if the sporty girl she feels the need for the sport sandal then one of these it is perhaps the best choice available, as they avoid the promiscuous use of the hideous blue nylon strapping that is the curse of their species.

Perhaps the Miachelle is not sporty enough-she is not liking the Chacos either!

Those are the worst of both worlds– they would never work for real outdoors activities! I’ll stick to my ugly Tevas for that. But those last ones aren’t too awful for the tourist or days when you’re doing a lot of walking around town.

In washing the car or canoeing, I prefer utility rather than aesthetics. I’ll stick to the Tevas.

Chacos are fabulous. Super-comfortable. And they do have a full line of non-leather versions for camping trips.
If you’re still wearing Tevas you’re missing the boat, unless you like blisters. (I’d be happy to sell you one of my three pairs of Tevas which I NEVER wear anymore…)
But I agree with the Manolo, they’re better suited for camping than weddings (Chaco used to offer one in white, just for weddings…).

Oooohh..me likey. I have always preferred sandals for walking, over sneakers, and I walk alot, as I travel alot. It’s hard to find cute sandals for walking that are actually comfortable. Aerosoles used to do some cute ones, but not any more. These look perfect for my summer wanderings…thanks Manolo!

I agree with Tucker–Chacos are the best sport sandals around. Back when I worked in an outdoor shop, anyone who did anything outdoors wore them and scorned Teva, for good reason. They are worth every penny and more!

The red ones on top look appropriate for the shopping and the casual Saturday brunch with the capris and the nice t-shirt.

Oh, Manolo, thank you! I have been searching for a pair of sandals to wear to Disneyworld (we are taking my son, who is 5). And I have asked myself, what would the Manolo think? Because we will be walking and standing in line for hours and it’s also very hot, I knew I needed study sandals. But I could not bear to buy the Tevas or the Birkenstocks. Horrible! And so I have been meaning to ask what I should get and here is the answer!

These are perfect for the Mainegirl. With jeans, cargo shorts, whatever–because I live in a land of moss and bog and not concrete and asphalt, I need something comfortable yet fetching.
