The Manolo’s Favorites
Manolo says, one of the Manolo’s many internet friends has asked the Manolo the question.
Manolo darling, I love your blog, but I must know, which is your favorite blog entry?
For the Manolo this it is like the mother asked to pick the favorite child; the Manolo he loves all of them equally, except perhaps for the few he would prefer to abandon in the parking lot of the Wal-Mart.
However, since the Manolo he cannot name the single post, he will offer six bloggings that he believes captures the best of his witticisms with the pictures of the celebrities.
1. The Choice of the Peoples, Part 2
3. My Name is Tommy and I Have a Torch
6. Say Mister
Since this post, it is now shamelessly about the Manolo, here is the link to the interview the Manolo he did with his friend the Kim the couple of the months ago.

that al jonson one has got to go. wasn’t funny in the first place, is even less so now that it’s one of the “best”.

The Manolo’s “Too Much Bronzer” focuses on the white obsession with blackness. Is it not surprising that tanning first because popular in the 1920s, and The Jazz Singer was released in 1927. Of course, blackface had been around for several generations by that point, but the Manolo astutely reveals that the white desire for blackness didn’t end in the 1920s. Showing Al Jolson in blackface may be offensive, but juxtaposed with a picture of too much bronzer instead reveals more than it offends.

brevity is the soul of wit, and the Manolo captures this perfectly :-)

These are all nice, but my favorite is Separated at Birth, the great Paris Hilton post.

The Apotheosis is a brilliant hoot!
(But it’s still Billy Joel to me…)

Hard to choose between the Tyrannosaurus Elton and the Say Mister: I’ve used both as examples of why one should read the Manolo.

The juxtaposition of the artifically tanned one hamming it up in front of the serene beauties, the contrast, makes the “Too much Bronzer” my favorite, though the choice is hard.

Did anyone notice this example of perfect clarity?
Interview with Kim:
Kim: I apologize for this question, but I ask everyone: the Britney or the
Christina?
Monolo: The Christina. There is for the Manolo no of the contest. The Christina, she is the beautiful lost waif, one who has, like the Violetta in the La Traviata fallen into the whoredom. For the Britney, this it was the sideways move.

I agree with the poster above. The Paris Hilton bit desperately deserves to be on the list.

Aw, I hate it when people make fun of Prince.
My personal favorites are any of the Lagerfeld posts. Especially the one about not breaking a hip, Grandpa.

In 1999, when I went to see the movie “The Insider”, starring Al Pacino, I was shocked to see his appearance. He just is not aging well.

Do not forget “Welcome, my brown brothers!” It is my favorite.
