the Tia would like to second the wonderful suggestion of the Suzanne that the Manolo use his position as noted expert on the footwear to influence the FLOTUS to buy the superfantastic shoes. Shoes the color of the merde de bebe do not become the great nation. The Tia may continue to criticize the Bush administration's policies, but if the Mrs. Bush's shoes were more superfantastic the Tia might consider Mrs. Bush far more a uniter than the President.

The Tia prefers not to blame the footwear of the Bush twins on the President. It is not his fault.

I think the hair of the Laura Bush is a metaphor for her personality: stiff on the outside for all to see, but who knows what is under the helmet of the Aqua-Net?

Perhaps someone just tried to do to the Shubbery what his wife said he once did to a horse?

Or someone just said "Janet Reno" to him...

The Nancy Reagan hasn't worn the high heels nor giddy styles for decades. As a sensible woman of more advanced age, she has opted for the comfortable and classic Ferragamos; these are shoes in which one can stand or walk during official and unofficial functions.

The Scarlett thinks that the Laura Bush has a policy that prohibits her from wearing shoes not made in America. This is a difficult maneuver and may account for the lack of footwear diversity in the Bush clost.

The Laura Bush needs a makeover. She is a handsome woman that could be actually very pretty without the helmet hair and with some super-fantastic shoes. She needs to rethink weaing only the domestic shoes in favor of ones with style as well as class. Also, she is not especially sturdy but only appears so because of the matronly clothing she sports (and if one compares the Laura Bush to the very frail Nancy Reagan). The Laura Bush has a figure but has done a fine job of hiding it!

The Suzanne would like to gently let the Annalucia know that her post above was semi-ironic, particularly the part about judging the George W. on the Laura's shoes.

Additionally, the Suzanne would like to state for the record that she herself is of the build you might call "sturdy" and has many pair of super-fantastic shoes. In fact, even the Star Jones, who the Suzanne normally detests, probably has many pairs of super-fantastic shoes. Super-fantastic shoes are not only for the waifish girls!
