What the Manolo Is…
Manolo says, here is what the Manolo is…
As you can see, the Manolo he has been watching this new miniseries about the Elvis, and now he has the Elvis on the brain. In the opinion of the Manolo this show it is the most excellent portrayal of the young genius the Manolo has ever seen. Truly it is indeed worth the watching.
In the fact, the miniseries , it has inspired the Manolo to reread what the Manolo considers the best biography written in the last twenty years, the Peter Guralnick’s Last Train to Memphis.
Manolo says, for the Manolo, the Elvis will always be the King.

As I am usually in agreement with the philosophies of the Manolo, I must counter your statement about Elvis. He is perhaps the King of Thievery and nothing more. However, I still absolutely adore the Manolo despite that statement.

They filmed this miniseries in New Orleans, and one of the guitarists in the movie was played by a local who sings sometimes at a bar near my house. We randomly went to this bar one night when this guy happened to be singing. Halfway through the set, Camryn Mannheim walked in and took a seat, and a little bit later, Jonathan Rhys-Meyers got up on stage and sang a few Elvis songs. It was uncanny. My (southern-born) husband said his accent was spot-on. As we were leaving, I congratulated him on a job well done, and he gave me a hug and a kiss.

Does the Manolo too dream of the Elvis in the black leather?
