Beauty is in the eye of the beholder; likewise is the meaning of the blog of the Manolo. Yes, one can find super fantastic shoes here, but if that's all one sees, one is missing out on a whole lot. This is a community, with space and structure provided by the Manolo where, as La BellaDonna has stated, we can feel at home. Starting with the Manolo, we get each other to think and we often make each other laugh.

The Internet is the great leveler. Those who enjoy and especially those who participate in the blog of the Manolo do so without any knowledge of or emphasis on (beyond what is volunteered) the other particpants' appearance, age, socio-economic status, or background. It's the thought and the humor that we share. Sometimes we agree, sometimes we disagree, and always most of us try to make this a pleasant place for the others to be.

I think the writers are projecting - maybe they don't read for the shopping advice, so they assume others aren't. But, the writers and journalists, already so much piling on and criticisms these days, poor things.

Manolo gives good shopping advice - I appreciate, most particularly, the advice to the women with the wide feets and the women who are serious and not twenty and have no desire to totter around on slippy, strappy things while trying to CEO to the underlings, or perform surgery or CPR, if you get my meaning......more fashion for the dignified woman, please :) !

The Post couldn't be more wrong. Shopping is VERY much the point here. Where do they get these writers anyway?
