Manolo, you may want to tell your big-footed New York girl readers that a new shoe store has opened in NYC especially for the women of the large feet. It caught my eye, so I thought I’d share:
‘If the only size-11 shoe at Barneys is sold out yet again, don’t fret. Elleven Up! (12 W. 57th St., nr. Fifth Ave., Ste. 1005; 212-757-2154), which opens May 15, stocks fashionable shoes from Delman, Stuart Weitzman, Jean-Michel Cazabat, and others in large sizes.” -nymetro.com
With my 4.5-5 foot, I have the other problem: yearning for the beautiful shoes that bottom out at size 5.5. No quantity of adhesive shoe cushioning helps, no matter what the lying salespeople say to me when they discover that the shoe I have sent them to get does not come in sizes so small. “Put a pad in,” they say, as if that solves everything. I long for the day that another specialty store opens in Manhattan for us girls with the tiny feet who don’t want to wear plastic shoes with sparkles from the children’s section.
