the Manolo he is also the fan of the Ludacris ... Boys of Beastlyness and the Enemy of the Public. Yet, at the same of the times, the Manolo he is also the fan of the opera, and the blues, and the classic country and the western, and of the newer genre of the alt country, and the rock and the roll

A man after my own heart! Pardon me while I swoon a little. Too bad there don't seem to be many men where I live with such varied, eclectic, and open-minded tastes... seems like there's country, and there's rock, and there's rap, and ne'er the three shall meet. Such a loss...

(You may notice I trimmed that excerpt riiiiiiiiight in front of the Broadway show tunes part, though. heh.)

The recommendations of the Manolo have caused me to forgo the local opening of the DSW and spend some hard-earned and long-horded shoe money on the book of the Susan Clark and the CD of the Decembrists. Tomorrow is the other shoe-hunting day.

The Alt. country of the Pat Green is genius. I highly recommmend it to all. However, he does perform in the dreaded Birkenstocks, but he is from Austin. They groove to their own beat there.

Bob, I appreciate what you say, and yet I must confess that I still maintain that you are totally wrong and Outkast is, empirically and provably by some as-yet undiscovered science of the future, super fantastic. This hyperbolic profession of faith has been brought to you by the proud owner of a Britney Spears CD, which is to say, it is to be taken with a grain of salt.

It is commendable to have so many and varied tastes in all things. However, Tania should understand that just because someone doesn't like something, it does not imply snobbery. Everyone has their own tastes. I, myself, do not like to listen to Outkast. This isn't due to snobbery - I have nothing against the group. They just don't appeal to me. Understanding and applauding diversity must include an acceptance that we all have dislikes as well.
