The Strappy Sandals in Neutral Color

Sunday, May 29th, 2005

Manolo says, one of the Manolo’s many internet friends has asked the Manolo the question.

I have been graciously given a few coupons to use at Zappos.com But they are the “act fast or expire” kind. So armed with my new bonus of $70, I would like to find some neutral (bone, taupe, tan, bronze) strappy sandals.

I can probably put a few extra dollars onto it (70+150 or so) but am wondering which of their lot is

1) not matronly
2) not too high
3) fashionable

so I wonder, if the Manolo of the Shoeblogs.com would be so kind as to assist me.

Manolo says, the coupons! The friend of the Manolo is indeed most lucky. Here are three pairs of the super fantastic shoes that the Manolo thinks would be worth the wearing.

Stuart Weitzman - Suspend (Gold Matte Lame) Manolo Likes! Click

When the Manolo he thinks of the comfortable sandals of strappiness, he must indeed think of the Stuart Weitzman. This color, it is called the “gold matte lame”. Do not ask the Manolo how the “lame” it can also at the same of the time be “matte”. It sounds to the Manolo like the dangerous combination of the opposing materials, like the meeting of the matter and the anti-matter. Whatever, are they not indeed most pretty?

Charles David - Babe (Camel Kid) Manolo Likes! Click!

This one from the Charles David it is the simple and the classic choice, and in the color “camel kid” less dangerous than the “matte lame”.

Delman Café-MN (Shell) Manolo Likes! Click!

Finally, here is this beautiful shoe from the Delman. It is the little more elaborate, but it is also, in the humble opinion of the Manolo, stunning.

The Jay

The Jay

Manolo says, look it is the Jay McCarroll!

The Manolo he loves the Jay! He is the wonderful, sweet, talented young man. However, like many of the designers who dress the others well, he does not know how to dress himself well.

Yes, he is doing better than the last we saw him when he had the caftans and crochets, however, the Manolo he would still love to give the Jay the over-making. First to go; those hideous and ridiculous gloves.

The Idol of America

Thursday, May 26th, 2005

Manolo says, many of the Manolo’s internet friends have written the Manolo asking if he had watched the super grande finale of the American Idol. No, sadly, the Manolo he did not watch this, as he has the well-known intolerence for the “singers” who specialize in beating the songs into submission with their off-key yelping and grotesque emoting.

Normally, the not watching of the American Idol, it would not be considered the loss, however, the many friends of the Manolo report that the great one himself, the David Hasselhoff, International Star of the Year, strode through the audience like the modern Zeus.

If only the Manolo he had known!

All the Manolo can say is that the Hasselhoff he is is comfortable in his celebrity.

The Blog of the Beverly Feldman

Thursday, May 26th, 2005

Manolo says, one of the Manolo’s internet friends has pointed out to the Manolo that the shoe designer the Beverly Feldman she has her own blog!

Yes, as the regular readers of the Manolo know, in the general the Manolo he has the complex relationship with the shoes of the Beverly Feldman.

On the one of the hands, many of the shoes of the Beverly Feldman they are too over the top for the tastes the Manolo. Yet, on the other of the hands, recently the Manolo has been especially pleased with some of the new sandals. Indeed they have been most super fantastic.

So, the Manolo cannot but recommed to you the blog of the Beverly Feldman, for as the perceptive friend of the Manolo has said, being both the shoe designer and the blogger is most certainly super fantastic indeed.

Shoes for the Weekend at the Shore

Wednesday, May 25th, 2005

Manolo says, the first holiday weekend of the summer it is here, and so the girl she needs the sandals for the trip to the shore to celebrate the arrival of the new season.
Beverly Feldman - Sexy-Straw Sandal (Lime Rafia) Manolo Likes! Click!
This limey-greeny shoe from the Beverly Feldman it is has the bow made of the rafia that makes the Manolo think of late afternoon, beach-side cocktails in the Hamptons.
Donald J Pliner - Brea (Cactus Kogi) - Women's
This sandal from the Donald J. Pliner, it has the flat heel that makes it most suitable for the beach, but with the beaded flower on the upper, it will make you stand out from the rude masses wearing the plastic flip-flops.

And either of these, would they not look good with the pareo or the sarong?

Dress a Day

Wednesday, May 25th, 2005

Manolo says, the Manolo he cannot but commend to you this super fantastic dress blog, The Dress a Day. The Erin, who is the blogger, she has the good eye for the fashion and is most witty, and, like the Manolo, she loves the Wodehouse!

Pee Wee

Wednesday, May 25th, 2005

Manolo says, the nasty wee little man that is the Kim Jong-Il, he wears the platform shoes!

Kim Jong-il has grown in stature, thanks to a pair of platform shoes that increased the Dear Leader’s height by about five inches, a leading South Korean daily reported Wednesday.

The Dong-a Ilbo published a recently obtained photograph of a smiling Kim that shows him wearing a pair of platform shoes with heels about 4-5 inches high.

Kim’s actual height is a tightly guarded secret and Pyongyang seldom releases photographs that show his shoes. Kim is estimated to stand between five and five and one-half feet tall in his stockinged feet.

Aside from devoutly hoping that the poeples of the North Korea they will soon be free to enjoy the super fantastic shoes, all the Manolo he can say to point out the ridiculousness of this petty person is: Tequila!
