Ah, The Manolo? Try http://www.famolare.net/, instead.
The Lisa, she had a pair of the Famolare shoes in the grade of the seven. They were super fantastic, but not so fantastic for the running, as the Lisa’s ankle can attest.
it’s Famolare – check your spelling.
Ah, yes. The Famolares. The girls, they all had a pair of the famous, super fantastic wavy-soled shoes.
The Fabulous Famolare, which came in the size 11 and was thus the only shoe for the 1970′s high-school girl of the big feets (who does not want to wear the old-lady shoes nor the sneakers).
My mother and I had matching Famolares. The shoes were cool, but I wouldn’t admit it then because what 13-year-old wants to be seen wearing the same shoes as her mother?
Ayyyy! Famolare! Not the Famalore! The Manolo he is unable to spell.
Since you post about Famolare I go crazy looking for the vintage 1979 sandals that drew much ridicule in my high school. I want to wear them to my 25th year high school reunion, but I fear my mother gave them away with the varsity jacket. Sob.
please someone tell me where I can get these again!!!
I wore Famolare for years and loved them. The only store that sold them closed down. So I found them on line and ordered some. I don’t know what has changed, but I have lost my toenails, got blisters, and I’m not happy at all. I quit wearing them for a while to see if it was the shoes or me. I started wearing them again and my toenails came off again. I don’t know who to tell or what to do. I spent a lot of money on them and can’t wear them. I would like my money back.
Sincerely,
Elaine Copeland
