The Lisa, she had a pair of the Famolare shoes in the grade of the seven. They were super fantastic, but not so fantastic for the running, as the Lisa’s ankle can attest.

Ah, yes. The Famolares. The girls, they all had a pair of the famous, super fantastic wavy-soled shoes.

The Fabulous Famolare, which came in the size 11 and was thus the only shoe for the 1970’s high-school girl of the big feets (who does not want to wear the old-lady shoes nor the sneakers).

My mother and I had matching Famolares. The shoes were cool, but I wouldn’t admit it then because what 13-year-old wants to be seen wearing the same shoes as her mother?

Since you post about Famolare I go crazy looking for the vintage 1979 sandals that drew much ridicule in my high school. I want to wear them to my 25th year high school reunion, but I fear my mother gave them away with the varsity jacket. Sob.
