The Manolo is unkind in his comments. The former Duchess of York is quoted in the article as saying it is a very nice sandwich but far too big for anyone, and that those who partake should eat only a little. She seems to be taking her role as Weight Watchers spokeswoman quite seriously; alas that she did not take the same care in her previous role of Duchess. And the Annalucia thinks she looks rather well for a forty-something Englishwoman.
What is truly chilling in the article is that the same delicatessen has named a brisket and gravy for Tom Cruise. The Annalucia does not even want to think about that.

That is a rather unfortunate picture, but I agree with Annalucia. The Duchess does indeed seem to practice what she preaches.

Well, it’s hard to look good in a photo where you’re eating. This is my main complaint of family dinners–I have a million photos of Christmas, Easter, and birthday dinners where the family is gathered around the table, all chowing down. Frankly, you could substitute one photo for the other and no one would know the difference, regardless of the year. And I always have to stop in mid-chomp so I’m not captured, as Fergie was, with food in my mouth.

Jesus, lady, order another sandwich!
After a certain age, a little extra weight makes you look much less like a reanimated corpse.
Just saying.

Speaking as a person who is on the Weight Watchers plan, it is not about the diet, it is about the healthy portions, and the Duchess of York is quite right.

She has such lovely hair.

You make me laugh, then laugh some more. I shall always be a fan of yers.

Ohhh, I hate seeing photos people in the midst of eating. It’s never flattering. But it can be FUNNY if that’s what the subject was intending when the photo was snapped…

does it really matter whether the duchess does as she preaches? (nice to hear that she does but since when have we become so serious?) i’m sure the duchess would be amused (and delighted) to find that she caught the attention of the manolo of the great wit….is this not the blog where we poke the gentle fun at everyone?

I do hope the Duchess has kept her jolly sense of humor. Nothing is worse than a reformed sinner.

That is the most hideous image of British royalty since the Diana accident scene photos. Hell, I’ll take Diana’s splattered brain over this… thing.

The Hair — I was just thinking that the hair badly needs a decent cut.

The ex-Duchess of the York has the too-much-of-the-facial-surgery-look to the face.
