Just Say No To The Glitter Thong Sock
Manolo says, one of the Manolo’s many internet friends from the Australia has sent the Manolo the link to the most disturbing sort of ridiculous fashion, the glittery thong sock.
The best thing the Manolo he can say is that this it is silly and useless. The thongs they are to be worn without the socks, that it is the point. And they are for the casual wear, perhaps to the beach, or the picnic. Certainly they are not suitable for wearing to the office, or for the fancy night on the town.

Or maybe to the belly dance?

They can also be worn to the traditional Japanse wedding:

Oh, my. The Sandra Day O’Connor would never wear them. Or the Madeline Albright. That is all I will say.

I don’t even understand them. Oh Navel says “HUH?”

My favourite part is where they say they will add “a bit of class to any day at the beach.” Yeah. Class. Right.

Says the site:
“At 3 pairs for $15.00, why not live a little?”
Says me:
Because the close-up says “Any 3 for $12″.

I don’t think they’re meant to be worn *with* flip-flops, I think they’re meant to be worn *instead of* flip-flops. Or maybe instead of being barefoot. I think they would be kinda cute in that instance…

flip-flop spats? yikes.

literaticat… YES!! I believe that you are right (at least I am hoping so for the love of human kind!!) these would look quite cute as just something fun INSTEAD of bare feet at the party of the beach or the pool

I think my mind is just right down in the gutter.
When you wrote “glittery thong sock” I was NOT thinking about tongs for feet…..I was thinking the Manolo was gettin’ the Freak On.

Eowyn, McSarah — I’m sorry to say that I’ve seen these in the store, and they’re clearly meant to be worn *with* flip-flops, not instead of them, incomprehensible as that is.

If they were meant to be worn INSTEAD of flip-flops — that is, at the beach or by the pool, as a sort of decoration for the otherwise bare foot — then I could see them being cute that way. But WITH flip-flops . . . I just don’t understand.

Ah — I get it!
It’s the poncho for the feet!!

Sadly, I won’t be at all suprised if these start to show up where I work….in my department no less. *Depressed*

I saw those at the Bay the other and day and had to do a double take. Then I went back to the office and crawled under the desk and I wept for humanity.
Surely they will be worn with flip flops and ruffled mini skirts. Possibly even with the… with the… with the legwarmers. It’s a frightening thought.

These are the stupidest thing I have seen on the internet in a while. And that’s saying something.

those are sold in san diego, and they are not meant to be worn with flip flops (at least not on those beaches). they also sell something called “barefoot jewelry,” jewels on a chain that wraps around the foot, meant to be worn with bare feet. sanuk makes toeless “flip flop socks,” which are meant to be worn with flip flops.

Someone I know is getting married on a beach and she is wearing something similar to this. While I do not approve, I am not one to tell a bride what she should or should not wear.
