I agree. The shoes are indeed beautiful but the details and workmanship could be better. I have found a lot of disappointing workmanship lately even at the $400 - 550 price point range. I wonder what the Manolo thinks of this?

It does have a leather-covered heel, so says the Zappos.com website. And sometimes I think an elastic gore provides a smoother line than a buckle. It depends on the buckle hardware, of course.
$400.00/pr shoes I just look at. I wouldn't dream of shelling out that kind of money on shoes. I do love Puccini design, however, and agree with Manolo that with a brown suede skirt these shoes, on sale for perhaps half-off, would look great.

While the basic shape and colour of said shoe are indeed attractive to the eye, I am disturbed that a 400.00+ pair of shoes resorts to a poorly designed elastic gore instead of a strap and buckle, it looks cheap and will not fit as well. Secondly, what is this trend of having the heel material being nothing more than colour matched, injection molded plastic? This particular shoe, on closer inspection, may in fact have a leather covered heel, but my query remains. These manufacturing techniques are more appropiate for a shoe in the 20-60.00 range.

Not impressed at all....
