Gee, I thought Keith Richards looked pretty good in the second photo…

The second picture actually reminds me of the Tyrannosaurus Elton. Look at that gaping maw!

Is that Mick channeling Frank Sinatra?

Ah, yes. The beginning of the Steel Wheelchairs tour.

    Separated at birth . . .

    To quote the ever-wise Manolo:
    “Don’t break the hip, grandpa”

The Manolo of course remembers when the Jagger played the Evil One on Saturday Night Live.

There is getting old, and there is getting old. The James Galway is three or four years older than the Mick Jagger but looks very different:

Thanks for the link. I love James Galway.

The trouble is, Mick looked like that when he was young too. Imagine being his poor mother when she first saw him in the hospital. Ayyyyyyy indeed!

Oh, that’s Mick Jagger? I was thinking it was Ian McDairmid in his role as Emperor Palpatine in Star Wars: “You…like your father…are now….MINE!”

The contrast between Mick and James Galway underscores one simple lesson: once past 50, do not try to be skinny. Pudgy ages much more effectively.

Either that, or “Don’t do so many drugs”.

    One of the two.

George Orwell said, “At age 50, every man has the face he deserves.” And at 60, apparently, he looks like he died at 50 and is still walking around.

    – and oh navel, LOL:)

    Street Fighting Septigenarian

Ev’rywhere I hear the sound of squeeking rolling wheelchairs.
’cause summer’s here and the time is right for taking Grampa downstairs.

But what can a geezer do
When his teeth are in a can
On a table right next to his bed
    In Mick’s Alzheimer Land?

Hey! think the time is right for my weekly high colonic
But where I live they don’t use water
    Instead they use Schwepps Tonic
Well, what can a geezer do
Except to sit on his new bedpan
And think of all those drugs he took
When he was in a band.

Hey! said my name is…uh…I forgot.
I’ll shout and scream, I’ll kill the king.
Now I’m all tied up in my cot.
Well, what can a geezer do
Except to ring for that bossy nurse
    ’cause in sleepy London town
    I think I hear somebody’s hearse.
    No

The Karen adores the Manolo, but since she has just returned from the second Stones concert at Fenway Park in gaping awe of energy and voice of Mr. Jagger, she humbly suggests that the critics snarking that there is something sad or silly about this tour should go and see for themselves. If the Karen is in anything approaching Mr. Jagger’s physical condition at Mr. Jagger’s age, she will be in far better shape than she is at the moment…

  18. The Scarlett August 24, 2005 at 9:03 am #

Karen, I’ve got front row seats at the Wachovia Center in Philly in October and I already know I’m going to be in awe. Sir Mick is in amazing physical condition. The majority of the males I see at the mall wouldn’t last to Jagger’s intermission if they were the ones on stage.

    And, my superfantastic Manolo,
behold another image of Sir Mick.

  19. The Scarlett August 24, 2005 at 9:06 am #

Dang, my linky thingy didn’t work. I’m going to try again.
    Here is Sir Mick.
