Ooh, I am swooning a bit at the mention of the Manolo in Philadelphia and the Main Line and this mall. I am from Philadelphia, too. Yes, much of Philadelphia is very pleased to be semi-society...

I hope someday you will tell us who the NY famous best man was.

I have decided that 2 1/2 inches is as high as I'll go. Even then, some need practice.

Oh, the adoration of these shoes is overwhelming me! That, & the medication for the wisdom tooth I possesed until recently. Fabulous. I adore. Once again, Manolo, as a potential bride planning on a red dress - yes! yes! I do!

Good to know that the author is happy with the movie - Weiner is a wonderful writer and I have read all of her books. I just have a hard time imagining Cameron Diaz playing a character who honestly does some pretty horrible things to her sister...

According to the author of the beach book "In Her Shoes", Jennifer Weiner, she is much pleased with the movie, as are many of the movie critics.

Aaaaaaaayyyyy!!!! La BellaDonna pouts with the Scarlett!! :(

Alas that the Manolo does not let the faithful know of his travels, but the crowds would doubtless become impossible.

[Hola to the Scarlett! And also to the Annalucia, with whom La BellaDonna shares the Issues of the High Heels.]

Manolo have you read the book "In Her Shoes"? Jennifer Weiner is a fairly good author from the Philly area, and now the book has made it into film with Cameron Diaz (no doubt desecrating the lovely beach book original)...

::gran sospiro::

It is a beautiful shoes, yes, but the heel height of three and one-half inches! Does the Manolo not realize that not every woman can walk in a heel of such height? The Annalucia, even when she was thirty years younger and forty pounds lighter in weight, could not walk comfortably in a shoe with a heel of more than two inches. If she tried it today she would cause her feet great pain and look very foolish besides.

The Annalucia hopes that one day the designers will help us to ``defy the convention, and the staid and stultifying rules of the mob'' in a heel height of two inches or lower. In the meantime she will keep wearing her black pumps of German manufacture.
