I have actually quite liked SS 06 so far, I'm relieved to see minimalism growing as a trend again and find this much more suitable to my personal style than the "the bohemian" SS 05...

Can't wait to see Europe's shows and see if we get some more variety...

Many thanks to the Manolo for noticing that I'm obsessed with following this season:)

I really enjoyed reading Final Fashion's blog. It's fun to see what fashion school kids are up to. Their attitudes are so fresh, optimistic, excited.

God bless 'em.

from Alabama, the Bz enjoys greatly the witty comments of fashionists and The Manolo HisSelf. Bland, tan, empire, shorts - fun to hear about, but ultimately . . . tis all meaningless outside the metropoles. But keep up the great writing, its brings smiles to many faces.

Oh, I'm completely with you on the shorts and suspenders. I'd love to have a word or two with whoever brought shorts back into fashion. (Those words being "screw" and "you.") And if you have anything bigger than an A cup of course suspenders are going to look ridiculous.

As for the oversized draped styles, though, better them than yet another visual assault of bra bulge and muffin tops. Unless you count the gangsta look (which I'd argue is outside mainstream fashion and therefore inapplicable), far more people err on the side of too tight.

Ay! Short-shorts? Suspenders? Empire waists? Are we all supposed to dress like pre-teens now? Just because the models all have the bodies of pre-pubescent 12-year-olds doesn't mean the rest of us do. Do those "fashions" (I believe scare quotes are required in describing them) look attractive on any mature woman?

However, there are many many very pretty dresses. I too don't mind the more neutral palettes we are seeing, but I'm more disturbed by a trend to over-sized and over-draped clothes than anything else. Too many people walk around swimming in their clothing already. Oversized styles are another that are suitable for stick figures but rarely do anyone with any kind of a figure any favors. And I say that as something as of a scarecrow myself.
