If one's feet, after many years of long and faithful service, revolt at high heels and unsupported flats, how can they tolerate tiny heels which do not distribute one's weight over a comfortably large surface? Or the toe box which tapers to the unnatural V shape?

Perhaps the Manolo, being both tasteful and wise, knows something about these shoes which are not apparent from the photograph?

I love love love those shoes! But $286.95??????????? My midwestern heart and soul will certainly not allow it, nor will my empty working woman's wallet. But oh do I love those shoes.

I am a mom of "a certain age". My college student son works in a very expensive, hip clothing and shoe store. He paid me a great compliment today upon seeing my elegant beaded linen outfit and black sandals. "It looks nice. You look like a mom, not a mom trying to look like a teenager."

"...(I)t is indeed true, the age it makes the physical demands that we all must eventually meet. However, this it does not mean that we cannot look...stylish and alluring..." The younger generation does appreciate attractive and age appropriate attire.

The jj, she also loves the Sauconys, and would humbly suggest to the Martha the Saucony Originals line with it's classic lines and wide selection of colors (both tasteful and not so). The supportive, comfortable work and casual shoes are a must if one wants one's feet to be rested enough to tackle the superfantastic heels on a hot date. :-)

Oh, Mr. Toad, you are an amphibious creature after my own heart. Since I began reading the Manolo, I try NOT to wear my Sauconys everywhere, but the seeking of the lovely comfy flat, it is a stringent spiritual quest.

I ask the Manolo, about the wearing of the shoes when one has pained feet or injuries. I sometimes see the lovely lady in high heels limping. This makes the toad sad. For pain can ruin one's attitude. I can understand how one might have an injury when one has only the high heels to wear, put if I see the limp and the high heels the next day, very sad. The toad he is a leg man and appreciates what the high heel on a lovely leg can do, but the happy lady is the most attractive. I would prefer to see the smile on the face and Converse Hightops than the grimace of pain and the limp on the nicest of high heels.
