Beautiful choices! I agree with Elvira, if the shoes look expensive and professional, the rest is irrelevant. Here in the hospital heels wouldn’t work, well actually I do see some of the female docs slipping and sliding on the hospital floors, click, click, click they go down the hall. A few of them can carry it off and look gorgeous (darn them); most look ridiculous next to the docs in the good flats and good suits or scrubs and comfy shoes. Beauty comes in many forms……

Then there are those of us who are the well-paid consultants. We have already proven our authority to the client, but we must reinforce it in order to get more of the large moneys thrown in our direction. As a group, we are also the older ladies and no longer have the patience for the high heels and the unnatural pressure they place on our parts of our aging feets.

The Elvira, she very much likes the Manolo’s suggestions for the beautiful shoes of the low heels. She could impress or even intimidate as necessary while wearing them, though she agrees, the aura of power, it comes from the shoulders — and, in her case, from the fact that the client chooses to give certain of the important tasks to her, rather than to the company employees. If the shoes of the Elvira look expensive and professional, the height of the heel becomes irrelevant.

While the Diva Leigh will always wear a high heel to the courtroom, the kitten heel provides an elegant and powerful look for the casual Friday attire. However, she is also acquainted with top-notch professional women who cannot or will not wear the higher heel and with whom one does not trifle. The Coach flats are great for slacks and the Bruno Magli pump is most assuredly not a trifling shoe.

I think it is wonderful to see the gracious Manolo find some beautiful and suitable shoes for women who cannot, for many reasons, wear high heels. And, alas, it is rather discouraging when some declare that even these lovely shoes are inadequate and only towering heels are suitable for grown-up professional ladies.

She whom is the most powerful must raise above the meek, those who may dare to only wear the most rude contrivance, the dispicable flip flop. Those who have far forgotten the strength of the sheerest of legwear and the most statuesque of heels.
Thy dearest of Manolo, we love thou the most, but please do not be deluded by those who no longer honor the power of the strong suit, the hint of color on the leg and the stiletto of heels.
