I use lightweight plastic boot trees in all of my riding boots to maintain their shape. You can buy them at most horsey places, including anywhere that sells riding boots. If you're feeling flush with the cash, they are also available in cedar. (You can hang them upside down to ensure that they do not fall excessively at the ankle, but boot trees are easier.)

Of course, black satin does sound more luxurious than plastic, perhaps I must buy them?

Some advice for those who do not win the bootlegs... For years I have been using paper towel rolls (when the paper towels are done) to keep my boots upright in my closet.
