When I turn on the television and see the peoples snacking on live eels, or kissing the asses of the vain and windy, or engaging in staged, camera-friendly relationships with their fellow pod people, or in a million other ways behaving like vulgar, stupid toads, I can say to myself, "No, this is not all there is to popular culture -- there is also the Manolo!" He is a balm to my wounded spirit, a great comfort and delightful entertainment -- and a source of beautiful shoes por encima! Oh, it is a lovely thing you have done for us all, maestro.
