As someone who works with designers on a regular basis, Joey Patina, Talent, would like to point out that designers are the artistes–great talents with the eye and the hand but with the words–well not so much. That is why we are all so glad that it is the Manolo who blogs on the shoes rather than the Maestro Manolo Blahnik. This is the only reasonable explanation Joey can offer.

Of course it is possible, that Mr. Kors was being ironic–something designer attempt occasionally. Or that he was caught up in a moment of playful deconstruction–affirming the denied or denying the affirmed. Another thought; Perhaps Kors was aiming at moral uplift, offering a glimpse of a world where even the most humble “working girl” wears the lovely boots of suede.

I don’t know what to say anymore. Somehow, the name seem reasonable, after I heard a radio blurb this morning where a sports coach was talking about how “if he doesn’t keep producting, like anybody, he’ll be on his way.”
At least the shoes aren’t floozing? And I rather like the idea of lovely shoes with ironic names - we could have a subtle suede pump called “sequined-sweatrrrr-grrrl”.

The Floozy? The FLOOZY? Did the Michael Kors pick this name because it has fewer syllables than “The B-girl” or “The Five-Dollar Hooker”? Or does the Michael not speak English, and did he pick the name of the shoe by closing his eyes and landing his finger at random upon the open page of the Webster’s Unabridged?
