  1. Lisa Says:

The Lisa, she has a slimming black crepe sheath that needs the first of the animal print shoes in the worst way. But what color of the hose? Not the black, because the Lisa’s Sainted Mother drilled into her head that hose cannot be darker than shoes. Nude? It is a puzzlement.

I think the problem may be solved by the buying of the boots. . .

  2. Peggy Bundy Says:

The Peggy Bundy, she is thrilled by this marvelous news.

  3. Zsa Says:

The boots are perfect for the ‘creature of dangerousness’ that can be hunted at a college bar happy hour —– the ‘cougar’! Thank-you Manolo! I will recommend for all of my 35 and older friends. I feel the tones in the tiger print go especially well with blonde which is peroxide.

  4. Jenzilla Says:

Lisa – If you have the superfantastic legs (or even just nice legs) you can go without hose. Me, not having even just nice legs, I suppose I’d go with nude hose.

Although I have noticed that my fashion sense is a bit old-fashioned, so perhaps someone else will have more interesting advice.

  5. dgm Says:

but the manolo, aren’t the animal prints everywhere every fall?

lisa, jenzilla–nooooooooooo! not the nude pantyhose, please. what of a very very sheer black or charcoal, at least for the kenneth coles. the spectacular d&gs are a little trickier because they are more lightly colored, but still. no nude pantyhose. they creep me out.

  6. deja pseu Says:

The Manolo has stumbled upon my weakness…leopard print! I’ve purchased three pair of leopard shoes so far this season, two flat, one heels. Now I have my eye on a pair of Stuart Weitzman boots for the aprés ski. Leopard print, natch!

  7. tinka Says:

Hmm, for the pantyhose I’d say either some very, very
sheer black hose, or something very sheer with a hint
of gold. And to be utterly, most superfantastically
terrifying, how about fishnets of some kind?!
(But definitely stay away from the tiger-striped hose,
the very idea of which causes the shudder! )

But to wear any of these you must be a far, far braver
woman than I. And have the most incredible innate
elegance, which will be only slightly scratched by the animal

  8. VeddyVeddyBadAng Says:

Great minds … I was JUST shopping for leopard print shoes yesterday. It was after seeing these that I decided to find a cheaper version for this fall and winter.

And if dgm is correct, then maybe I should splurge and get the Manolos, since apparently I’ll be able to wear them every year!

  9. Diva Leigh Says:

The “semi-practical” one?! Oh, how the Manolo cracks the Diva Leigh up!! The boot is fabulous – perfect for the college-age daughter of the Diva Leigh, had the daughter had the good sense to be born into a weathly family!

To the Lisa, I think colored hose with the print is very tricky indeed. I must respectfully disagree with the dgm regarding nude hose, that at least as to a “woman of a certain age,” bare legs or very sheer nude hose is a classier look than colored hose. As the rules of the appropriateness of hose/no hose seems to vary by region, take your cues accordingly.

  10. La BellaDonna Says:

La BellaDonna waves to the waves to the Deja Pseu. The leopard, it is La BellaDonna’s favorite colour! La BellaDonna, she has only the one pair of leopard shoes (so far); they are the little flats from Newport News, and engagingly casual. There is a printed hair-calf pair of pumps that needs to make its lair in La BellaDonna’s closet. Now, if La BellaDonna could find (and afford) a flat pair of leopard boots, the world would be wonderful indeed.

Oh, and La BellaDonna, she wears the black tights with the leopard shoes (and other items). There is no “nude” shade on the earth that matches the legs of La BellaDonna, and if the colour is going to be different, it will be by La BellaDonna’s choice, and not be default.

*La BellaDonna also exercises the restraint, wearing only the one leopard item at the time, so as not to frighten the innocent passersby with her leopard chapeau (from her maman), her leopard belt, her leopard sweater, or silk blouse, or silk peasant skirt, or bias skirt, or Indian gauze with black lace trim, or wrap dress, or …

Hmmmm. La BellaDonna’s closet, it is the nature preserve for the leopard!

  11. CyndiF Says:

My bias is toward black tights for day, black hose for night, and nude hose never. I also wear a lot of brown tights and hose.

  12. jessie Says:

    me want.

  13. SandyInOhio Says:

The Sandy, she does not like the boots. They look like they go on the hooker. The shoes the number two, she does like.
Wow, this Manolo speak isn’t very easy.

  14. Suma Says:

The men’s collection from Reaction Kenneth Cole is now at! You can find styles ranging from faboulous dress shoes to trendy, European-style casual shoes! :)
