The thing w/Diana is this–she was pulled out of school at **sixteen,** got engaged at nineteen, and married at twenty. I don’t know about you all, but I knew crap at those ages, and my coping skills were even worse. I’m not surprised in the least that she went batshit crazy…but Chuck definitely paid for his family’s wacked-out sense of duty. He and C seem to be 2 peas in a pod…fashion-wise and otherwise.

While not wishing to interpose herself between the various factions here, AskMom would like to remark that the real function of the British Royalty, it is to provide the comic relief and the antiquated pomp. In this Charles and Camilla cannot be bested. Also a note of consolation for Diana sympathizers - her son will one day be King while Camilla’s sons will serve him in obscurity. The universe, it provides the balance and the justice if we are patient enough to see it.

The description I read of the dress, was that it was a midnight blue, so within the bound of protocol.

Diana was batshit crazy. Charles at least stuck with Camilla. Diana boinked half of Knightsbridge.
