Thanks, Manolo, for reminding us that supermodels and movie stars apparently have the bodies of aliens, retaining the ability to magically snap back into shape the day after giving birth.

Perhaps it is the Jihadi heaven?

What the Norma finds interesting is that the panties have many, many more little lightbulbs than the bra; does not this make this odd ensemble just that tiny bit odder? It is as if someone was unconsciously expressing his (or perhaps her, one never knows) sentiment that the latter area is nice enough, but it is the former that is the main event. As for the golden chainlink wing-fringe, one shudders to think of the effect this would have in actual flight; the Heidi Klum would be covered with the little welts! (Perhaps another unconscious wish.)

I want wings like that. I wouldn’t wear the lighbulb twinset for anything but a lot of money, however the wings would look nice on an all black costume. :D

manolo, does this getup use batteries or electricity? if i can’t wear it in a blackout, it’s useless.
November 10th, 2005 at 4:31 pm
blackout shmackout, if there is a cord I cannot wear it on my trapeze!
November 10th, 2005 at 5:46 pm
Not to mention how the cord would get tangled up around the stripper pole….

… Or in the Champaigne room. I mean, seriously.

Assuming the question is serious, the lights are LEDs with minuscule power consumption and a couple of AAA batteries tucked into the place of your choice would power them for a very long time.

“Assuming the question is serious…”
ryno, are you serious?
November 10th, 2005 at 11:53 pm
The poor woman is really starved for attention is she not? Pitiful…

I believe that the NormaDesmond is correct in thinking that way. Your insight is beautiful.

Victoria’s Secret just drives me crazy — they seem to have a stranglehold on the lingerie market in the US, but their products are just glitzy tat. Thanks for pointing out the ultimate example of that, Manolo!

[…] previous VS Fashion Shows from that website, back to 2000. Update: Manolo the shoeblogger illustrates my point about Victoria’s Secret perfectly. That is just minging. […]

“a couple of AAA batteries tucked into the place of your choice would power them for a very long time”……
Tucked into the place of your choice - LOL - that conjures up some interesting images. Thanks, Ryno!

I guess there’s no energy crisis in heaven, makes sense….especially in a “jihadi heaven”.

Sorry, dgm, after 30+ years in engineering I tend to take things a little too literally. And then I go into technical explanations. And then people roll their eyes and walk away. I don’t mean to be like this, really.
November 13th, 2005 at 3:14 am
Ryno
If the lights would blink on and off would the blinker circuit increase power consumption? For in flight use she should definetely have warning strobes.
November 14th, 2005 at 10:06 am
Actually, La BellaDonna, she appreciates the technical explanations of the Ryno, who has no need to apologize for the expertise acquired over the 30 years of the hard work and study. La BellaDonna, she appreciates the engineers, and also the knowing how to make the costumes light up without frying the wearers thereof. The peoples who roll their eyes and walk away, let them walk; La BellaDonna she is always happy to add to the stores of archane knowledge.

oh, hell, I’d wear it.
November 14th, 2005 at 3:06 pm
toad: In this case the blinker circuit would not increase power consumption due to the large number of LEDs controlled. If it was a 1:1 situation it might be different depending on the wattage of the LED and the power consumption of the blinker circuit. What fun!
