Interview With The Manolo The Shoeblogger
When someone writes the history of blogging, there’ll be a special chapter dedicated to the one they call ‘the Manolo’. In fact, when they write the next history of shoes, he’ll be near the front too, we bet. Through his…

All right - the Annalucia, she will confess that she does not understand this one. When she clicks on the picture it leads to a link regarding the late Mr. “Scotty” Doohan, so she is no more enlightened as to who “Jon XIV” is or what he has to do with the Angelina Jolie. If any of the Manolo’s readers has the patience to explain the joke, she will be most grateful.

Dear Annalucia, the man in the photo is Angelina Jolie’s father, Jon Voight. He’s
also a celebrated actor, and apparently now he’s playing some pope. I believe
that he and Angelina have public spats sometimes…. And now you have the knowledge to understand the Manolo here.

Ah! Many thanks to the Tinka for the explanation. Perhaps the Annalucia should read the magazine of the “People” more often.

The Mme. laVie, she is so grateful to the Annalucia and the tinka for the explanatory discussion. Alas, perhaps the Mme. laVie should make an appointment to join the Annalucia in the reading of the “Peoples”

Ohh how the Manolo must scare the Angelina! Perhaps The Voights performance in Deliverance will give insight into being the Pope, human fraility and all. Papal Fashion however is less interesting. Think he has good shows on underndeath that robe. Will the Manolo enlighten us?

But apparently it is the fact that the pope wears Prada. He has a known fondness
for Prada loafers. I don’t know what happened to the shroud of the secrecy,
but this is not the joke.

The Jon Voight is playing the Pope John Paul II. Apparently waiting a respectful time before creating the “Made For TV Movie Biopic”, it has already passed.
Thanks to Tinka, I will now have to research the Prada Loafers. If they are good enough for the Holy Father, then they should suffice for the Zarba.

The one thing that struck me during all the media coverage of the Pope’s funeral last spring was that he was wearing gorgeous red loafers (I know–my priorities are SERIOUSLY skewed!) I don’t know if these shoes were Prada, but I’m sure living in Italy for decades fostered a taste for fine shoes in His Holiness.

Are you KIDDING, Lizabet? Seriously, that man had nothing but the finest next to his baby soft skin since he left Poland as Karol and picked 2 boy names in Rome.
