Oh Manolo, what a joy to be on the panel with you! I think it is time for me to revamp my shoe closet and make sure it contains suede, lots of suede.

Aaaaaaay!! La BellaDonna, she finally clicked on the picture. The Kristen and the Kim, they are lovely ladies, and full of joy, but the Elizabeth, aaaayyy! La BellaDonna, her milk is now curdled, and she must find the fresh milk for the coffee. The Elizabeth should be advised that the botox, it is for the frown lines and the feets of the crows, and not for the smile muscles.

Somewhere, the Elizabeth has heard the adage, “Let a scowl be your umbrella.”

I must agree with the Manolo about the importance of fashion blogging. I personally am incredibly bored with traditional fashion magazines. I am so done with Gwyneth Paltrow being on every cover and all of glossies bowing down to the same fashion. We as lovers and consumers of fashion need to have an outlet to appreciate our visions of fashion and I think blogging provides that

It was so much fun. That picture, for some reason, adds about 20 lbs. and the Kim she is sad about it. But, Elizabeth Hayt said reinforced to me that her book was a memoir (and a racy one at that) about her sexual escapades and I whispered to her, “if it’s a truthful memoir, then how different is it than a blog?” And she looked at me as if to say, “you know what? You’re right?”

I, too, googled Elizabeth Hayt and also looked up “I’m No Saint” on Amazon [http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0446531944/qid=1132180502/sr=2-1/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_1/102-3489700-9400953?v=glance&s=books. It’s indeed quite the tell-all (at least according to Pubishers’ Weekly), but there’s also something grim-sounding about it.

So it was not surprising to read Kristen’s description of Miss Elizabeth on Beauty Addict:

“Then there was Elizabeth Hayt, who began with this attractive piece of wisdom: ‘I hate blogs, I don’t read them. I think they’re for rich people with too much time on their hands to vent.’”

Not a lot of joie de vivre, wouldn’t you say? And look at the photo of dour Elizabeth
frowning at Kristen and Kim, who are laughing and clearly having the times of their lives. Which would you rather do for fun, read “I’m No Saint” or click onto Never teh Bride?

Blogs are all about humor, whimsy, delight in ephemera, and the airing of sharp, individual voices–all traits that our Ivy League Art Critic and New York Times Correspondent sadly lacks.

Oh Manolo, I was on that panel too, except since I was added late my name wasn’t on the agenda. I am almost glad, considering all the mess on the Internets about that panel. I am the Beauty Addict and sat between Kim and Never teh Bride.

Elizabeth Hayt is one scary, overly-botoxed woman.
