I believe the evil one's head is being kept alive by a bionic body, and the collar is a disguise and support for the seam between head and machine. Consider also the gloves he wears constantly....... necessary to hide the plastic "hands." But whatever the explanation for the high collar may be, surely we can all agree it is creepy and bizarre. This picture confirms it. Look at it quickly without realizing it is the Evil One. A guy in a neckbrace, that's what you see. Now, the next thing to find out is... what happened to him? I, personally, think he and the Funky Little Fashion Troll got into it. The Evil One now wears a neck brace from having those big tufts on either side of his forehead pulled sharply, and the Funky Little Fashion Troll has been wearing his odd head gear and possible extensions to disguise bare tuftlets on either side of his ears. I defy you to come up with a more plausible explanation.
