I am 5 ft 10 1/2 and l used to be so self conscious about my height, because society seems to always want to point out things when comments should be kept to themselves, most short people are insecure when they see a tall person so most feel they need to put tall people down to make themselves feel better. l love fashion and l do wear high heels going all the way up to 3.75 iinches l feel so incrediably sexy and confident. My shoe sizes range from a 9, 9 1/2, or a 10. My thing is God made me this way and l am going to hold my head up and flunt my height with all the confidence in the world. If the models do why shouldn’t I……

I am 5.11″ and absolutley adore high heels, but own zero pairs! Although they look good and make me feel sexy, they also make me feel very self concious and instantly noticable as one of the tallest people in the bar. Being blonde and quite blessed in the chest department means on the occasions i have worn heels i have recieved very hurtful comments and bitching from other girls and often ended up going home, so now i just dont bother!!
My partner of 4 years doesnt like me to wear heels either, hes not short, he is exactly the same height, but hates it when im taller than him and it does make me feel uncomfortable towering above him, and the others in our group of friends.
I wish i was a couple of inches shorter or had the confidence to wear heels and stand out all amazonian like but fraid not, its jeans and flats all the way for me!!!

I am 5ft 10.5″ and am tired of being told I am too tall to wear high heels. I love them but have been told all my life by strangers I shouldn’t wear them.

I agree completely. I’ve never had a relationship with a taller woman, but I wouldn’t have a problem with it. And I’d certainly encourage her to wear whatever she wants on her feet! The sexier the better, and to me that excludes flats…..

I wear my flats when I’m with my boyfriend and my heels at work. In a man’s world, it helps to look down on some of these guys! (I am 6′ in my stocking feet). Since I wear a size 12 shoe, I can’t find shoes everywhere, but I have found a great selection of all heel heights in my size at this shop called Dreamshoes.

I’m 6′2″ and have a hard time not scaring guys off - especially when I wear my 4″ heels (which are as tall as I’m willing to go). The guy I’m with now is only 5′10″, so I have real height on him even when I’m barefoot, but he loves my height and we certainly get attention in public.

Manolo:: I agree height shouldn’t stop a taller woman from dating a shorter man. I am a lawyer and frequently enjoy wearing heels, including Manolos, at work and socially. I am significantly taller than my husband who is a freelance writer and cheerfully remains at home with our children, 5 and 3. He has seldom expressed frustration with my height advantage or position as breadwinner. Thankfully, the days of having to “look up to your man” are past !
