Leather Lace
Manolo says, here are the unusual shoes from the Vigotti, about which the Manolo he is of the two minds.
On the one of the minds, the Manolo appreciates the interesting technique used to make this; the leather it cut with the laser, and then laid over the colored fabric. This it is the cool idea, and the shoes they is not without their charms.
However, on the other of the minds, the patterns of the leather and the combination of the colors they are not exactly what the Manolo would have wanted.
Still, the idea it is the good one, and the Manolo he hopes to see someone do this again, as there is great potential here for beauty.

In my opinion, the pattern of the leather is beautiful – I’m with the Manolo, there is great potential!
It’s the contrast I don’t like. Maybe a darker brown leather over a fabric only a shade, two at the most, darker. Then the texture and the pattern would be lovely!
I could also see a dark brown leather over a dark green fabric – like a Pre-Raphaelite painting!

The Diva Leigh, she agrees with the Manolo that the technique is most interesting. However, her practical side thinks keeping these shoes clean will be a nightmare.

But not as much of a nightmare as keeping them clean would be if they were real lace.

The pink one makes me think “mother of the bride”

Cool technique – the leather colour could also be changed for better contrast. But then again, ya might end up with those “colours to match the bridesmaid dresses” combos…lime green and hot pink….

I must respectfully disagree with you, sir, on one minor point. I think the light leather patterned over the dark cloth is a wonderful contrast, and those shoes are fabulous. After all, with a bold technique, why not go for a bold contrast? However, the light pink cloth disappears into the light leather and those shoes are dull.
I heartily agree with Diva Leigh–I think cleaning them would be a nightmare, and I can’t see a way to treat and preserve the leather that wouldn’t stain the cloth. However, I do hope the red carpets those shoes should walk on, somewhere between the limo and the ballroom, would not be too dirty, and therefor the thought of cleaning them just an intellectual exercise.

I like them.

These remind me of some of the pieces from Zac Posen’s Spring RTW. Lots of cutwork in neutrals.

The Gidget, she is most enamoured of the tan over the black shoe. It reminds her of the art nouveau perfume bottles covered in the silver cutwork. The pink (red?) is not so attractive.

I have been thinking about these and I think they would make a big splash at the Short Hills mall, fi you know what I mean.

Now see, I really like the red. They look to me like a rich Victorian brocade. They’d have to be the star of the outfit, however. With any competing prints, it’d just be entropy…

Okay, I’m obsessed with justifying these red shoes.
I think that the stacked-pattern of the heels keeps them from looking as matronly as they might with a solid heel.
What about with this Chaiken dress, or maybe this Oscar de la Renta suit?

The first pair looks like coral on my screen–very au courant. As for the second pair, the colors remind me of the ubiquitous black polo shirt/rumpled khakis combo.
