    Yes, maybe the price is a bit ridiculous, but I have now figured out how to rationalize spending hundreds of dollars on my shoes. I just read this book “FutureShop” by Daniel Nissanoff. It’s all about how eBay is changing the way we shop. According to him the online auction culture is going to completely change the way we look at our possesions. We will eventually view them as temporary because we will turn around and sell them on eBay in a few years when they are no longer of any use to us. So we can go out and spend $500 on our shoes b/c next season we can sell them for $300 on eBay. This is a great book and it makes sense. You should check it out.

    Montana! I thought I was the only one of us hereabouts. And you’re right, eBay’s the place. Especially since I spend my life shopping for 35″ inseams so I can wear superfantastic shoes.

    Brr in the 50′s?!??!

    here in st louis it’s not really considered cold until it gets into the low teens!

    I still wear sandals unless the temp drops below 45 ish!

    Just get some of those chenille-stem bees with the google eyes at the craft store and glue ‘em onto some gold flip-flops. Voila! Virtually the same look at just a fraction of the cost!

    I’m from a cold-weather-spot too, and around here people pull out their shorts & tank tops when it gets up into the mid 40′s, let alone into the 50′s!

    Stuart weitzman has some golden sandals out this spring (got the catalog today) that are gorgeous and cost half (or less) what the Guccis cost- try Zappos. Manolo has recommended Stuart Weitzman in the past for a poor girl’s good substitute for truly superfantastic shoes.
