Phyllis, how philanthropic of you! I must confess my first thought was "Hand-tailored suits--no, bespoke. Cashmere-wool blend for winter, linen-wool for summer." Then ultra-high-quality shoes, lingerie, and blouses. After that:

Invest in a small start-up fashion company making practical, moderately-priced business wear for women of a variety of sizes and silhouettes, with free on-site tailoring to customize for hem length and shoulder/hip ratio. The XX version of Men's Wearhouse, if you will.

Wow, I wouldn't even know where to start with 10 mil. The first thing I would probably buy pursewise would be the Paul Smith 3 pocket swirl shopper, and everything in the swirl line to match it. Then I'd put 3k towards my dogs cataract surgery. After that, I would be too overwhelmed to know what to do.

I would spend the $10M to set up a foundation that would enable low income women to acquire a fashionable work wardrobe to enable them to enter the work force with style and confidence! And of course, fundamental to this project would be the shoes - and I would ask the Manolo to come into the project. His special expertise would surely enable hard working and deserving womens to gain coinfidence - after all - when your feet look good - the rest of you looks good too. The Manolo deserves an Oprah-like audience!
