Wingnutty

Manolo says, many years ago, when the Manolo was the poor boy, he constructed something similar, but vastly more super fantastic, out of the strips of the old leather and the industrial debris he had found at the abandoned furniture factory.

Of the course, the main difference was that the Manolo’s shoe fit properly.

A couple in India have made a living out of the Manolo’s early endeavours.

Thanks Furlagirl – those are nice bags. The level of craft skill in India is truly amazing.

Oh. My. God. That is the most heinous shoe that I could ever imagine. How can you walk in them? Beware the strong windy day out-of-doors lest you fall and break your NECK. It looks like something MacGyver would devise to get out of the desparate situation. I am forwarding this link to my shoe designing husband at his place of work so that he too may have a good laugh. (The Manolo is the best at poking the gentle fun. Thanks for making my day.)

What is that? Is it a shoe with an adjustable heel, for different heights? Yes it is ugly but the idea is interesting.

I have a theory about this shoe: I think the model ran outside for a quick smoke wearing the shoes and accidentally stepped on a subway grate and broke the heel. She began to cry knowing that she needed to walk the runway in only a few short minutes and some construction workers that were setting up building scaffolding nearby took pity on her. So they grabbed some spare parts, constructed the heel and sent her on her way…

OOoo, La BellaDonna, she likes the ShannonShoe’s story! It is the very Project Runway, no? The ShannonShoe should go to Erin’s http://www.dressaday.com/dressaday.html for the dress stories. Perhaps there might be a collaboration in the future …

La BellaDonna, she wishes the Ahujas much luck with their bags, and thanks the Furlagirl for the link. Heaven knows, there are enough plastic bags in Philadelphia alone to make into the big sheets of plastic, enough to make the modular housing for all of New Orleans.
