Blogging The Project Runway Tour

Manolo says, The Blogging The Project Runway Tour!

Six months ago Blogging the Project Runway blog did not exist.

But then the Laura K. put together the most basic site in which she collected the links to the news articles and shared her love of the Project Runway. Within the few short weeks, her site became the number one place on the internets for the Project Runway, and the fans flocked to read the amusing mix of information and opinion she had assembled.

Before long, she was even corresponding with the designers and with the magnificent Tim Gunn!

And now, look at this, she and her internet friends have arranged the tour of their favorite Project Runway sites, including the sanctum sanctorum, the Tim Gunn’s office at the Parsons! (The Manolo imagines that as the heavy twin doors swing open on soundless hinges the single shaft of light illiuminates the gilded throne on which the master sits, while in the background subtle angelic fanfare mingles with the soft music of cooing doves.)

Such things as this tour they are the reason why the Manolo is completely in love with the blogging, and why he believes that it has the power to change the relationship between entertainment and the entertained. Indeed, it has already happened.

I cannot believe my eyes – I am sitting here in London watching Project Runway. It’s showing on Sky. I don’t think it’s the most recent series, none of the names I recognise like Santino and Chloe from reading the Manolo – Daniel, Jay? An Englishwoman, a rather fey blonde boy. Oh, and a very bossy Mom telling people to eat right and bond with each other. Which series is this?

  4. Khazarkhum Says:

Furlagirl, you are watching Season One.

It is tragic that the Tour is in the City of the Apple, as I live near the City of the Angels and cannot go! :(

  5. desertwind Says:

Ayyyyyy! The desertwind has become a total PR geek and she doesn’t even have a TV! She goes as far as sending post-ideas and links to BPR.

All due to encouragement of the Manolo and the Laura K.

  6. Moi ;) Says:

Oh, Manolo, you should have come. It was most fabulous, and truly you would have been mad for the Tim Gunn!

  7. tbone Says:

Manolo – we were thinking of you all day and how much you would have enjoyed it. Especially the office of the magnificent one. The Laura K, she dared sit in the very chair of our beloved Tim Gunn! On his desk was the handwritten note from Debra Messing. We learned that the Heidi Klum uses his office as her changing room when filming and the powder, it needlessly soils Tim’s office and beautiful accoutrements.

Best of all, lining the hallway leading to his door are the most beautiful vintage design sketches from Parsons students from the 40’s and 50’s. Spectacular. The Tim Gunn salvaged these from the Parsons scrap heap and restored them to places of honor.

We are all still buzzing from the experience. And we have you to thank for getting it all going!

  8. The Scarlett Says:

It was a pleasure meeting Kara Janx, Emmett McCarthy and Tim Gunn this last weekend. I sat next to Tim Gunn for over an hour while our group chatted over drinks. I received a kiss on both cheeks as a greeting and a farewell. Tim Gunn is even more handsome, more charismatic, more dapper and more articulate in person than one sees on television.

Kind Manolo, I thank you so much for all of the encouragement and advise you have given to Laura K over the past several months. And, yes, I did think of you several times during our trip.

  9. Donna B Says:

I regret I have never seen this show, as Manolo makes it sound like so much fun. But even better, he rises above it, to give us the Big Picture, and the view from here is astounding.

  10. Laura K Says:

Oh Manolo, we had a wonderful day. I have just returned home and have many many e-mails of thanks from the folks who were able to attend our tour. It was wonderful to meet everyone and we are very very excited about Season Three! Best of all, we have so much information, there will be no “down time” between seasons on Blogging Project Runway! Thanks so much for your ever-present encouragement!

  11. twistygirl Says:

Ayyyyy, the Twistygirl she is sitting at her work desk crying the tears of the sad because she is on the stupid lame West Coast and not back on her native superfabulous East Coast, so near to NYC and Parsons and Tim Gunn and the Daniel Vosovic! You are all so much the luckiest people!!!
