mi muchacha_mx found BPR soon after it started and would sometimes write to Laura K about it. Then we began to study the blog as a very interesting popular culture phenomenon. We have written about it as an example of blogging as participation in a chapter on blogging that is part of a book to be be published later this year. We love the blog as a blog. But we also love it as a fascinating social and cultural phenomenon that has so much to say about life online and about internet cultures.
It is really interesting to go back to the start of the archives and look at the comments and about how humble the beginnings were. I often wonder where Barb is now. She was there at the start and gave the blog all the support she could muster. Wherever you are Barb, ’saludos’.
