Manolo – an aesthetic shoe question – should the curve of the front sole always match the curve of one’s own toes? I would love to know your sandal fitting guidelines.

I love them! Can be dressed down or up…

We loves them, the precious . . . . .

My, my, my …these are gorgeous shoes. *sigh* The Maestro has done it again.
BTW, check out the new interview with the Manolo Blahnik in “Footwear News”, May 29th edition. Not sure if the article is online or not (www.footwearnews.com) but it was most inspiring.

Those are lovely. My grandma had a great pair quite similar that she’d saved from the 60’s but in a sling back.
I wish we had the same shoe size.

Pssst! A Socialite’s Life has a feature on the Gem Sweater lady that the Manolo introduced to us quite a while back. Perhaps these sandals would compliment the bejeweled sweaters.

Good question, Phyllis. Although if I abided by that guideline, I would never be able to wear any sandals or open-toe shoes, ever! I was “blessed” with the stubby big toe (over 1/2 inch shorter than my second toe), and all of my sandals have that oh-so-attractive spot where you can see a giant swath of insole in front of my big toe. It has been the bane of my existence.

I just got a pair of Manolo candy-pink 4 in. high heels (MY fantasy, though I bet I can get my husband to beg when I wear them ;-) They are a perfect arc across the toe, and thus there’s a large amount of insole showing over my 3rd toe. The insole would fit you better than me. I think many shoes are this way, you are worried only because the order of “bigness” is a little off (actually lots of people have a bigger second toe). Don’t worry!
The worst fit faux pas (to me) is having heels hanging off the back of the sandal because some women still think big shoes sizes are a bad thing. Or seeing the overly-wide or puffy foot literally straining to breathe free in a narrow size. Or cracked heels and gnarly nails. There are a billion other ways to mess up a great foot look, this one isn’t worth worrying about. I do not confine myself to shoes that have a longer insole on the inside or I would NOT have my dream babies.

Of course, I am not the Manolo. Should he disagree, I will henceforth match my toesies to the insole. BUT NOBODY GETS MY CANDY PINK MANOLOS.

What fun shoes these are… who wouldn’t want to start out with a little bling?

You know…me, not so much. Speaking of Cloris Leachman (as we were not long ago), I see these sandals and envision her wearing them with a glamorous nylon tricot caftan and a lounge turban.

Jewelry for the feet! Excellent. Could see this with that little black dress and lost of other sparklies.
