My first exposure to these was the other night when sure enough a man I know who otherwise seems to be a good judge of things, wore them to a presentation on family relations. All eyes, on his feet. No compliments were emitted. Had we been in the forest or rock climbing maybe.... In this setting however, they just appeared even more odd looking. The hiking boots and the tevas aren't attractive either, but they're functional shoes for particular functional applications.
