I just laughed out loud at the 'Phish cover band.' It's funny because it's true.

However, I also have to express reservations about wearing light-colored suede shoes to an outdoor wedding during an extremely rainy summer. Something more mud-repellent would be a smarter move.

Manolo--I have been invited to the very same wedding! My question for you: what is the proper footware for the male Vermont wedding guest?!

I'm not a huge fan of wedges (they seem to anchor the foot to the ground instead of allowing it to soar gracefully above the ground), but those are sexy.

The Ushie, she went to a lively outdoor reception. A suit of armor to fend off the larger of the horseflies, and big wellies that can be worn and then thrown away as one drives home, are necessities for the outdoor wedding/reception.

Beverly Feldman shoes are now available in London - I saw some fabulous ones at Russell and Bromley on Oxford Street this week, and girls were buzzing excitedly around them

Yeah...gonna side with those who envision these suede wedges bespattered with mud and rife with grass stains before the ceremony even begins. I'm afraid that the only worse materials would be either pale satin or white nubuck.

Wedges: great. Light color: okay, as long as it's wipeable. Darker wood or leather heel: priceless.
