Heavy Metal

Manolo says, finally, shoes for the Keira Knightly!

P.S. Also from the Boing Boing, lockable metal stilletos.

P.P.S. Many thanks to the Selena for alerting the Manolo to these!

I fail to see how those locks on the other pair of shoes would actually keep the shoes on the feets. They seem to be only for the decoration.

Believe it or not, though, there is a big market for the stillettos that are lockable for real (padlock on an ankle strap!), marketed to bondage enthusiasts who have an obsession with the feets. They are, alas, usually pretty fugly.

Those don’t look too uncomfortable. If I had an office job, I’d wear them on performance-review day!

The article says they were made for a character on Babylon 5 – anyone know which character? My hubby just got me into this series and I’m partway through season 4 and have *never* seen such shoes. I think they’re pretty cool except for the spurs on the back.

Where did they get this? Has someone just raided David Bowies closet? ..or…is it too “occupied” to make theft possible? Someone please get Major Tom on the line!

These would be excellent to wear into the courtroom for my impending custody battle. Woot!
