They glide along gracefully without a sound. I don't own this pair but a very similar pair Manolo linked to last summer, and they are extremely elegant and classy while informal enough for the beach. The footbed has a bit of padding, so they are quite comfortable. I call them my "million-dollar flip-flops" because they fit the flip-flop niche but don't make me look like a slob.
