One of the Manolo’s many internet friends has sent the Manolo this picture of the crazy Polish ladies which has been scanned from the Sports Illustrated Magazine, thus proving conclusively that there is the Eastern European mania for the high-heels racing.

LoL Miss Janey, I think it’s just Polish blood. I’ve met some very muscular Polish people, both male and female.
I wonder if they were allowed to use bandaids and blister pads to begin with b/c I don’t see any.

I don’t think any lady will run in their Manolo, unless there is a contest with the winning prize of “free Manolo shoes for LIFE” that requies them to run on their Manolo heels.

i wonder how many of those heels actually DIDN’T break! i have actually managed to run in a fair amount of high heels, but only to catch the metro…

re: the Dora Long’s suggestion, I was thinking more along the lines of “our” Manolo, i.e., a Tour de Manolo would have as its focus the shoes on the feets of the participants.

I recall something about the Olympic sprinter Gwen Torrence’s running ability being discovered in high school. She didn’t want to change into sneakers for gym class, so she did the 100-yard dash in her heels - - and broke a record! I think they were LOW heels, though.
