As the stepdaughter of a gentleman who was Dean of an academic library, I must say that the librarian is definately the type of lady who will agressively search the Zappos.com for the excellent deal on the high quality shoe of timeless good looks and then wear every red cent out of it. Classic and quality are the qualities that make great librarians and great shoes.

The jj suggest that one search the sale section by size, as one can sometimes find designer shoes on deep discount that do not come up in other searches.

I must respectfully disagree with localgirl having been a librarian for over 30 years. It is simply a question of priorities--one saves for the fantastic shoes and one takes very good care of them when one has them.

Dear Most Wonderful Manolo,
You have clearly never worked in a library, or had a salary that is equivalent to working in a library. Shoes that cost $100? There is not even a small chance that these would be affordable. I work in a library, and flip flops from Target on sale for $8.99 are what I can afford - about once a year.

My feet grew during my pregnancy and now they're 9.5. Does that mean they're "big" and I'll never find shoes on sale??? The horror, the horror!
