Thin women are the most likely to be able to run in high heels. All others would not be able to balance, or would break the heel. Thus, the race eliminates heavy women from running. No wonder these races get so much attention- one couldn't have a BMI requirement for a race. The high heels not only look sexy, they are a filter. Well, that's kind of sad, really. Take it from the one who knows - five years ago, Moi was unfortunate enough to twist her ankle and injure her foot in a fall. For the next four years Moi could not wear the shoes, the many podiatrists and doctors, they only wanted to shoot her with the cortisone. Moi was doomed to a life of flat mules for life.....but then.... ....Moi, she finally found the hunky surgeon who finally fixed the pain! And now she can wear the shoes again. Not so high as before, tristement, but 2-3" which is so much better with the dresses, no? Running in heels is stupid.
