Super fantastic reading material and DVD selection!! I saw the author of “Bury Me Standing” at the Smithsonian about 10 years ago and she had some amazing stories about the Romany she lived with.
Rome is also a most excellent DVD series. Full of the intrigue and steamy sex scenes all set in the super fabulous Ancient Rome!! Sadly, Rome is not known for the spectacular shoes but the rest of the costumes are worth it!

huh, gitanos….that always makes me thing of Llorca and Romance de la guardia civil espanola. I think Romances gitanos may be one of my favorite books of poetry ever.

A fantastic follow-up to “Bury Me Standing” is “We Are the Romani People” by Ian Hancock. Hancock is a Rom himself and writes beautifully from the inside of the Romani culture and experience. Highly recommended.
