These boots could make me metaphorically beat peeps about the head. They would go with just about anything. I am loving these. Manolo, as usual, you are the oracle of feetswear.

I'm already six feet tall. Can I skip the platforms and wear ballet flats or kitten heels?

These are what I am wearing today...

http://www.scoopnyc.com/Product.aspx?iPID=202242&iCID=226

I have gotten more compliments than I can count on these -- and I also walked 20 blocks to work in them this morning. Because platforms tend to have a thicker heel (and of course the platform itself) I actually find them easier to walk in than a traditional heel.

PS -- Agree with Charlotte, Meander, et al...I am 5'8" w/o shoes and I LOVE the height...it makes a statement.

As a shoe lover and observer I am a bit embarrased(sp) to say this, but I'm frightened at the prospect of wearing platform shoes. Don't get me wrong, I love a sleek long heel that strengthens my calves and gives a wider outlook than in my natural 5'7 heighter....BUT..the idea of wearing not only a heel more that 2 1/2, maybe 3 inches tall plus on a heel that is super skinny. It all goes back to years of falling and spraining of the ankle as a young girl. But I will give it a go if the right platform speaks to me. :)

But so many platforms have wretched rigid soles! And platforms with narrow heels and pointy toes? Back in the late nineties, I had several pairs of chunky platforms that I wore a lot, but they all had flexible soles. I walk and walk and walk miles every day, and if you can't walk in it I will not be wearing it.

Fausta, don't be afraid of platforms! I'm just as tall as you are, and I bought a fab pair of four-inch-heel, ankle-strap Stuart Weitzman platforms yesterday (alas not available at online stores). Trying them on, I felt like a goddess. In fact, it's we tall women who can make platforms work, because our towering frames are in proportion with the thick soles. Short women in platforms tend to look as though they're wearing elevator shoes.
