Cool Out Suede

Cool Out Suede from the House of Dereon Manolo Likes! Click!

Manolo says, here is the unusual suede D’Orsay peep-toe pump from the House of Dereon.

Yes, it is the bit over the top, but in the attractive and luxurious manner of which the Manolo approves. Is it not possessed of the semi-retro Hollywood glamour?

Maybe it’s just my screen resolution, but that shoe has a touch of the “trashy rural girl seeks a sophisticated city look” about it when I look at it. But you know, everyone has their statement to make, I guess!

Catwoman, doesn’t your comment apply to just about all Hollywood starlets, sex symbols and glamour pusses past and present? Me thinks you made Manolo’s point.

  3. la petite chou chou Says:

    Whoa…those shoes are…

    …oi.

  4. Zoe Says:

    Ugly shoes, just ugly. . . .

  5. Viatrix Says:

………Aha! All is now clear. They are indeed the semi-retro Hollywood glamour, designed for the aspiring starlet in her first big role as the feisty saloon girl with the heart of gold longing for a better life, but trapped in a rough, dusty. They are the shoes she wears when the doors swing open and she first glimpses our cowboy hero!

As for La Viatrix herself, she is torn: cannot decide whether she likes them or not! Her whimsical little heart finds a soft spot for them, perhaps because they might come with a wonderful cowboy hero of her own? Fortunately, the veto power is held by her significantly less whimsical and graduate student-sized pocketbook, and by the fact that the shoes of the saloon soundstage would not serve so well in the laboratory.

  6. VeddyVeddyBadAng Says:

I think they’re fun! I love all the folderol and fiddle-dee-dee. Sometimes you just need a frivolous shoe to make you smile.

  7. The Charlotte Allen Says:

I think they’re cute, too! They’re evening shoes, fun shoes! Naturally you’d look stupid wearing them with a business suit, but with a very simple after-dark outfit, they’d be great.

  8. D.L. McNair Says:

Not right for me, but may work for the proper wearer.

  9. Sundancer Says:

Dare I say it? While I do think the shoe is cute, sadly, I also think that it would go well with the hideous flower festooned tooshie outfit that sent Angela packing.

  10. LaPetitMort Says:

But do you think Beyonce will actually wear them?

  11. sue Says:

they are so whimsical..i love em!

  12. DelRay Says:

I would totally wear them, if they were either NOT $165, or NOT made in China. Those two things together are a little hard to take.
