No, Mandolina, you are not the only one. Cute for my 6-year-old, but not for me.

[...] The Manolo he is as amusant as ever, yet I have to admit my blood gets uncomfortable at the idea of spending $153 on (what we call in England) wellingtons (after the duke of). This is because I am mean thrifty. And because I am thrifty I think the time has come to make this blog over into a newer differenter blog about thriftiness, which is basically at the of my homemaking style. On the other hand, I also love thrifty fashion. And Mexican folk art, which isn’t necessarily thrifty, but worth it anyway (click the photo to go to somewhere you can buy it). When these dilemmas have been resolved, you will be the first to know. [...]

These are darling, but looking outside I see the rain has indeed thickened up a bit. Would Manolo like to post a story on lovely snowboots in the (very) near future?

These > Uggs

I have a pair myself in brown w/ pink lining/piping[?] but not prints. They're a godsend for people who have to deal with rainy season on a large university campus.

The Mandolina, she clearly does not live in the area where the torrential downpours ruin your day and the flooding on the sidewalks ruins the chances of dry feets on the way to class.
The Unfashionista cannot bring herself to spend so much on such pretty shoes, and has a pair of boots in the black with the white polka dots, purchased for under 30 of the American dollars, which also, as the Manolo says, bring the smiles.
Happy boots, they make these rainy days seem nice.

Dear Manolo,
I have just discovered the Manolo and the peerless pensees (sic) of the Manolo fill me with delight! I, too, love the shoes, expecially the Minnetonka deerskin mocassins! I hope this affinity will not preclude our friendship. I say the Manolo is super fantastic, and I thrive on the joy of such a sharing!
Ciao & Party on, Manolo!

Somebody needs to talk to these shoe manufacturers about sizes. People's feets are getting larger! I am perilously sick of not being able to buy anything amazing because I have large feet.

I like the Royal Horticultural Society Wellingtons in the rose print (unfortunately, they do not come in my size). I'm sure they're available many places, but I've seen them at the Victorian Trading Company:
